The screen is a masterwork by the esteemed artist Ito Kakou. Born in Mie Prefecture in 1939, Ito's accolades began with a first prize at the Japan Art Institute's Spring Exhibition in 1962, marking the start of a distinguished career with numerous selections for prestigious exhibitions. An Inten recognized artist since 1965, Ito's contributions to Japanese art have been celebrated with multiple awards, including the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon. His works have been embraced internationally, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan acquiring his pieces and one of his iconic creations featuring in the Gifu Central Future Exposition. In 1999, his art was immortalized on a postage stamp showcasing "Usuzumi-zakura," his hometown's famed cherry blossoms. Ito's legacy includes his role as the director of Setsuko Mikishi Memorial Art Museum and his generous donation of "Awaboku Cherry Blossoms" to Yakushiji Temple.
